Challenging Times By Irene Becker, Chief Success Officer, Just Coach It
We live in challenging times, because the foundation of our lives, our work, our economy is changing and will continue to change faster than ever before. Added to the discomfort of constant change, and the ambiguity it presents; is the conspicuous lack of leadership.
Perhaps there is an absence of leadership, because we are at a new turning point where we have to learn to embrace personal leadership; to step out of the prison of complacency and renew, restore, refresh our human ability to stop criticizing and start synthesizing the human qualities that make us unique, that create miracles in our lives and the lives of others.
Often we see personal leadership in times of crisis, when people give up all the artificial boundaries that divide them and work together to fight against an outside threat. Today, the greatest threat that we have comes from within. We need a renaissance of thinking, feeling and doing that helps us reconnect our heads and our hearts so that we can remember. Remember, that our most important job is not to be a human doing, but to be a human being.
The more complex the world becomes, the simpler the formula for success is. Because creating success in life, in business, and in our world means creating value for others. Value starts when you ask not what you can get, but what you can give.
